Im currentley putting golf togethor 1.8Gti battery im using at mo is….
12V 36Ah 300A
Is this correct? Its enough to make starter motor spin out of engine but just hear clunking when in engine… do i need bigger Amp Battery ????

36Ah is the correct battery for your car. If you use the car daily and don't mind upgrading it then 45Ah is fine. Are the teeth is good condition and does the engine turn freely by hand?

Never seen the car running,
its a track car and i took it over half way into a rebuild.
I shall check the starter again, i took it out of a mk2 golf and it seemed smaller but have been told its ok for mk1.
Im being very amatuer here, but how do i turn the engine over by hand?
