right i no the starter motor needs a live but does in need an earth there is 1 to the battery but is there an earth of the start its self if that makes sence

It earths through the casing into the block. There should be a main engine earth back to the battery.

there is a main earth to the battery but i was just seeing if there was ment to be another cheers anyway mate
