Spal Electric Windows - fitting advice wanted!
Hi, just got a set of SPAL electric windows for my tintop. Instructions don't actually list Mk 1 Golf ….much to my annoyance
Any of you ever fitted these to your Mk 1 - which combination of spindles/washers/covers did you find worked best (save me from finding out the hard way - ie. getting it wrong ten times before they work properly!)
Also, where did you decide to fit the switches ( I've lost me centre console to VDO gauges, and me ashtray space to the super ventilation mod…)
cheers,
Martin

I have electric windows on mine - the swithes are mounted on the door - ver neat, but they are not the same brand as the ones you have bough….
Handy to have though

Hi, thanks anyway, have managed to fit the drivers side without too much problem, so passenger side should be easier tomorrow (!) Stuck the switches in the dash - two switch system, so driver need to be able to press them both! So far, so good. Have to say that the instruction manual supplied is pretty much the worst I've ever seen though!

Funny you say that - I bought the car with the windows already setup - and the instrcutions came with all the receipts - glad I didn't have to fit them! My only tip is to give the metal strip that moves the window up and down (like a steel cable) a good dollop of grease.
Have had to strip mine down in the past.
Cheers
