reverse lights & econometer plug ?
Need some help.
No reversing lights, for as long as I can remember, and the econometer never worked since I got the car.
I suspect I had reverse lights before the clutch was changed by local mechanic, but not sure.
Decided to have a go at checking electrical connection on the gearbox, but find an empty multipin socket/connector on the gearbox !
Can't see any wires/loom or plug hanging loose, and don't even know what I'm looking for. From some pics in other posts on here, I see a rubber-booted plug with 2 sets of cables from it. (Reversing lights & econometer ?)
Can anyone help & advise where the cables are routed from, and what the connector should look like.
The only loose plug I saw was a 2-way spade plug (white nylon) on passengers side hanging below shock tower. I suspect this may be the reversing lights circuit, but havent checked any further yet.
Thanks,
Declan

See if this helps:
Electrical contacts at top of the gearbox look like this:
The input that signals to the econo-meter that it needs to change from the change indicator light to a needle showing MPG in 5th gear joins the wiring circuit here:
You've probably alraedy seen these…

I bought one of the switches from GSF. Neither my reverse lights or econo gauge worked - after buying this - all worked OK. Just be careful because some of the guys on this website have had issues - with me it just went on no problems. Good luck
