Replacement Clocks
When I bought the car a few weeks ago I knew the odometer was not working properly, so scanned on ebay and managed to get a replacement set with a view to getting the mileage adjusted to the correct mileage, however before I spend more money on them and send them off to be adjusted I am now actually wondering if they are the correct clocks for the car and maybe this is why the current set do not work. I did not realise on ebay that you can check if they will fit your model and on doing so, it appears the set I have bought do not according to the sellers setting? Wish he had mentioned that before i bought them!
Have uploaded an image and if you great lot could tell me if you think they will fit that would be hugely useful

Why does the Oddometer not work? Is there anything else not working on your cluster? does all the lights etc work?
Why do you need to send them away for re calibration, you can do this yourself..
There are 2 manufacturers of clocks also. VDO and Motometer. So I would buy like for like.
Have you got a picture of the existing clocks in the car for us to compare with?

hello mate it all depends on the connector block ,the one in the picture has one block but th ones in my 83 campaign has two .the later ones had mpg and a gearchange light,so your clipper might be the two block type as its cabrio len
I presume the only way to find that out is to remove the old unit?

They look about right, for a clipper. GTI clocks are different.

For some reason the mileage is going up in an odd way, say one minute 250,000 then 357,000 not sure why apparently the speedo cable is ok? Everything else works fine on it. Was planning to send it away to have the mileage corrected, you saying this can be easily done myself
The existing clocks look exactly the same (although don't know about connectors as have not removed from the car yet)
Thanks for your help
