Relay in feed to windscreen washer pump ?
Hi folks,
While tracking some minor electrical issues on my 83 campaign, I found an extra aftermarket relay in the feed to the front washer. The output from the multiplug operates a relay, which provides a separate live feed to the washer.
Can't think why that would be… surely the pump is such low current it wouldnt need a relay ?
The relay itself was actually faulty
Should I replace the relay, or is it necessary ?

you could bridge the input and output pins on the relay socket and see if that works?

I forgot to add, it does work without the relay in place. I bridged to two ends of teh cable that was cut to insert the relay & washer works fine.
Can't think why the relay was there in first place !
