Overheating
I know this has been covered in other areas, but my problem is different to the previous posts.
I have a 1600 Quartet Cab 1987. I've replaced everything (rad, fan, pump, thermostat, switches, pressure cap etc) After all this effort, and having the car pressure tested (no problems BTW) it will run fine for a couple of weeks, then just boils up and won't cool until I take the thermo stat out and fit a new one. I'm now on the sixth thermostat in about 200 miles. I wondered if I wasn't using the car enough and this was causing the problem. (That 200 miles is in a year)
any suggestions gratefully received. :dontknow:

So your problem is failing thermostats? That's causing the overheat?
Weird one - You putting in new anti freeze to the correct mix?
Thermostat in the correct way around? Not sure if they can go in the wrong way.
Try a different thermostat manufacturer - you could be buying from a bad batch I suppose :?
Cheers
