oil temp gone to pot

my oil temp on my mfa defaults to 173deg, is this likley to be a buggered sender or the mfa throwing a wobbly? also what colour should the wire be on the sender? as i have a torquise colour wire attached, but there is a light green one on the dizzy. should these be the other way round?

sorted, it turns out some one had attached the sender wire to the dizzy for some odd reason, now attached to the oil temp sender and working fine.
