No wipers, heater or heated rear window

Help please!!!

I have finally had enough of my cabby.  At the moment i feel like i want to take it somewhere with a gallon of petrol and finish it off.

The starter motor died yesterday so i had a spare . . not a problem so i changed it.
Started first time everything was fine and it was lef trunning for 20 mins or so.
Moved the car out of way and started to work on my caddy project.  Came to the cabby later and tried to start it . . nothing!!
Jumpt started the car of my caddy and it just wouldnt idle at all it wanted to die all the time. Tried the wipers . .. nothing . . . .tried the windscreen washers and the heater and they wouldnt work.

The lights and indicators work.

I have tried a new wiper motor i had and it didnt make any difference, We checked the fusebox on fuse 11 for wiper sand there was no power.

The relays are ok and i have swapped them to make sure.
i have changed the wiper stalk and that made no difference.

has anyone had the same problems before?

The cabby is a 1.8 GTI 16v and has been running happily for 8 months with any electrical probs.

HELP PRETTY PLEASE its doing my head in!

Ignition switch?

after trawling through this excellent forum i may have found the answer.  It sounds like it could be ignition, live wire from ignition or the a differnt X contact relay.
I will find out and maybe in touch it its the ignition switch if you have one?
