New CD player causing Flat Battery??

Ok, so if fitted my car with a new CD player at the weekend, ran the car all day Sunday (garaged when not in use) with no problems. I then came to start her up this morning and nothing… Well I say nothing, it turned over the first few times but it wouldn't start… the more i tried the more drained it sounded. Im assuming it is just a flat battery (Never not started for me yet) and the only thing I can think that my have caused it is the new Cd player… when you remove the head unit it has a little red light that flashes continuasly (sp) as a safety thing im guessing but surely that cant drain the battery enough for it not to start, Can it?  :dontknow:

Im going to Jump start it tonight when I get in from work but if it is the CD player that is causing it then it will just keep happening….

I didn't leave any orther lights on By mistake or owt either…

Might be coincidence , charge the battery over night and have the alternator checked for out put .

Cd won't pull that much power unless as you say it was left on

Cheers………

Cheers for the replies fellas. Bumped it off last night and took it for a spin hoping that might put some power in the battery but no luck, Tried to bump it off again this morning but did it wrong and stalled ( ). anyway, until this morning didn't realise there is a garage right at the end of my road!!

So…

They started it with a starter pack for me, took it in, changed the battery and hey presto! Back to her normal self again!  :D

The battery did look to be on its last legs and the guy at the garage told me that it wasn't even the right sort of battery for it… ?40 any away I drove! (Wish everything only cost that!)

So coincidence it was…

There's interesting.  Does it start any better now with the "right" battery?

At last that Vauxhall emblem has left the car!!

Well up until the other day I had no problems starting it at all, 1st time, everytime.

If that bloke hadn't have told me any different I would have never known it was the wrong 'Type' of battery but hey, you learn somthing new every day!

Anyway, sorted now and she is back to her old self… and yeah, youre right, the Vauxall logo was making it look abit shabby under there!
