mk1 with 16v kr lump

hello all.i'm going to drop a 16v engine in the mk1,will i get away with my old 8v gti loom.will i need to use the isv and the ecu from the 16v.or can i get way with not using the isv and ecu .just that a lad told me today that he droped a 16v into his mk1 an did not use the isv or the ecu.but he did say that the engine was not running yet.so can you get way with using your old 8v loom an not using the 16v isv and ecu.thanks for any help dan

no u need to use the 16v loom. u dont have to use the isv but it is advised, i used it on my 16v and the wiring is a piece of cake!!

thanks is it the whole 16v loom i need to use.or are you just on about using the loom for the isv and ecu.thanks dan
