What should this look like:

what are the two connectors for, some kinf of fan?

Any ideas?! If you know what the plug is for then it might be possible to see what the piggy backed yellow wire is - I'm assumign it isn't stock!

Random wire from the loom - blue w/black stripe. Anyone know what for?

There's a brown wire with a female spade clip here, don't know what it should connect to

It's my first golf so I've no point of reference to start from so if you can save me a few hours with a multimeter I'd greatly appreciate it!

That switch with the light in is for your low brake fluid

the round plug is for your 0-1-2-3 fan speed

to be honest mate, it is very difficult for us to find out where they go as many of the cars have different wiring to original.

Most of the dash ones only fit into the correct switch as it were which should help.

Back of the haynes manual has very good wiring diagrams and with a bit of patience you can work out (from the colour of the wires) where each wire should go.

Any partiular wire that you are having grave difficulty give me a shout back and I will make an extra special effort to have a look.

Fair enough, I got feedback in another thread saying someone would know so thought I'd give it a try.

I don't know which bits of the dash are missing which makes it a bit harder!

I'll figure it out by Haynes/dvm if I need to but thought I might have some time saved by you lot

I think it might be one of the 2 wires onto the hazard light switch that isn't on the multiplug connector from the loom.

One has a small connector the other has a larger connector, like the small and large connectors you get connecting to the spade terminals on speakers.
