Indicators, or lack of

Whilst driving home from work tonight the indicators ceased to work. The dash light just stays on. When I got home I had a fiddle about and found that when I turn the headlights from dip beam to sidelight only they work ok, but do not flash when the headlights are on.

Anybody got any ideas??

Check out all your earths - sounds like a voltage drop with the lights on not allowing the relay to energise properly.

Might be worth swapping out the relay also.

Check all the connections on the back of the hazard switch. There should be a multiplug, a brown wire and a black and blue wire. If the latter is not connected (or if fuse 19 has blown) then the dash light will just illumiate as you say. be careful with the black/blue wire as it is always at +12v even with the ignition off and if you touch it to the brown wire you'll blow the fuse.
