Indicators HELP!!!!!
Hi there was just driving back from work when i noticed when i turned left the indicator was flickering mega quick.
I checked the indicators and the O/S front and side were out but the back one was still working.
I checked and replaced the bulbs but there still not working.:x
Can anyone shed any light on my problem :x :dontknow:

Have you checked that there is current going to the bulb holders, cleared them of any grime, rust, dirt etc. May be a wire off/broken somewhere?

Check the multiway connectors on the back of the fuse box. They can become loose. Also the actual pins inside the connectors can have a dodgy connection too. Give it a wiggle and see. Also check fuses…
I think front indicators are on block a (white one nearest passenger side)

I'm probably wrong but if a bulb has blown or in your case two it will cause less resistance resulting in a faster flash rate. I'd check then bulbs first.

The housing that holds the bulbs are often very corroded - get some new ones from GSF if that is the case.

inicators/ hazards not working
my indicators and hazards are not working on my 1988 golf gti cab .
the indicator lgiht on the dash remains constant
i have changed the fuse both the 4th from the left and 4th from the left - still didnt work.
i took out the 4th fuse from my other gti cab 1984 …and it showed the same problem - but i got a fully working fuse in my 1988 an it still dosent work.
the relays dosent make any noises….so i tested the relay….i took out the relay out of my 1988 cab and put it in to my other gti and it worked ..so it cudnt have been the relay
i have checked the hazard switch which most people on here say can be at fault…….i checked the connections..thier was one little connector that came off…but i reconnected that but still didnt work
i had my rear reg plate wires cut off when the boot lid was replace…and joined those wires back. but made no difference if they were connected/disconnected
can anyone help ? thnks

**** PROBLEM SOLVED****
THANKS WOZA for putting me back in the direction of the fuse box
FAULTY RELAY CONNECTORS IN THE FUSE BOX - this time round i twiggled around with the relay while connected ……it made wierd noises so i knew it was a loose connection ……so i wrapped the connectors of the relay with kitchen foil….and it was fine
…….
thats the first thing i did when indicators stoped working…but didnt make any noises ..may have also have been a blown fuse that i replaced…which appeared ok

similar to what Tian said but the dash on my driver hasnt worked for a while so i dont get the flashing green LED when indicating and the relay clicks at a much quicker rate. Maybe check the LEDs working properly.
