Indicators have stopped working?? Please help me!!

for some reason the other day the indicators/hazard lights stopped working. when i start the car up the indicator/hazard light on the dash just glows a very dull green colour and when i indicate or switch the hazards on the light just lights up bright green, it does not flash. I was putting in a stereo and i did accidentally short the +ve & -ve just once tho! Ive checked all the fuses and there was one 10 amp fuse blown, i replaced it and still nothing. What could the problem be? Please help in need indicators!!

Wiggle the plug on the back of the hazard warning light switch, and see if it burts into life.

il try that tommorow as cars at home in garage. I remember from ex-cars of mine (non vw's) there a unit looks a bit like a relay behind the dash that normally burns out from a short circuit?

Try the relay?  It's the bit that clicks from the fuse box when you turn the blinkers on.  I had this, the fuse sorted one side but the relay had gone so I couldn't get both sides to flash.  Replaced the relay and all was good.

mine did exactly this, turned out to be the fuse was grubby.  cleaned them all with a bit of wet and dry and now they work perfectly.

Hi I've got the exact same problem, dull green light then when indicatong it just lights a constant green no indication, but the hazard switch works? Did you have any joy fixing it?  

Also got rear brake light problem but thats a whole other problem!!
