indicators- dont!

Hi my indicators arent working have done a forum search on indicators and tried most things before posting this so would be grateful for any ideas

The indicator light glows dimly all the time with ignition on, glows bright when indicating but doesnt flash and neither do the indicators

Hazards work fine so all bulbs ok and it would appear the relay,

swapped relay from the Mk2 one which appears to be the same-no difference so I think the relay is ok

one post suggested the hazard switch can be faulty which everything goes through so Ive swapped to a new one- no difference so that should be ok

have had the indicator switch off the steering column- connects ok tested witha voltmeter so switch seems to be working

running out of ideas- anyone got any? :dontknow:

inters soon and I need to get it fixed grr :banghead:
Cheers
Lewis

:? I had this problem and it definitely was the hazard switch

if you try slowly moving the hazard switch from the off position, does the indicator light go off at all?

Other than another relay (is it seated correctly?) and hazard switch… bit of a long shot but maybe worth checking the connections to the back of the fusebox  :dontknow:

:) check the fuse, then if not that it could be an earth fault behind the headlight,(battery side)

cheak out the brown wires, give them a wiggle,it worked for me,if they did work and just packed up,it sounds as if the wire has gone rusty inside so then trace them back and replace, with out seeing the car i sound a bit vauge
