Immobiliser Query

Hi all

my insurance company (the one with the stupid dog) have asked me for proof of my immobilisers make etc. I thought it was factory fitted. It is a transponder type that you have to put in a slot which is situated below the handbrake light to the right of the steering wheel. There is a red led which flashes, then stays constant for a couple of seconds once the transponder is recognised.
The car is a 1990 clipper cabrio.

There is a unit under the bonnet badged Quantum - I read somewhere these were rebadged scorpion units for VW dealerships - anybody else heard of this?

Is this a factory option, or does anybody else have something similar fitted?
