I'm doing 40 at traffic lights!

or so my speedometre tells me sometimes!

 i use my rev counter through speed cameras cos the speed clock reads out what ever it likes! 8O

sometimes it sticks at the fastest iv been on the trip, sometimes its just really sluggish picking up, or it climbs way over what im actually doing! :dontknow:

im tempted to say it a problem with the clock rather than the cable or sender, but i really dont know! :?

anyone had a similar problem? and how do i fix it!?

mine went a bit odd before it failed! might be the cog that fits into the gear box, i would get a new cable or take yours out and see what it looks like, might just need re-seating

Sometimes on the GTI the needle doesn't move until I rap the instrument cluster with my knuckles, its then OK for the rest of the journey. Old age.

Inside the clock I think it works of an magnetic pickup so may just want cleaning or a return springs gone if its sticking :dontknow:

Mine doesn't like the cold and the needle suddenly adds 20-30 to the speed.
