How do I reset my odometer (mileage)
Having almost finished my project, I would like to reset my clocks so that they coincide with my rebuilt engines mileage.
Not being dodgy or anything, as I'll take pics of the existing clocks and write it in the service history schedule book.
Currently using mk2 golf gti clocks.
Do they just wind forward/backwards with a drill or screwdriver?????
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers!

needs taking to bit a reseting
i've done it a few times
take clocks to bits, take speedo out
on the back you will see a metal shaft with gear cog's on
cut the shaft
reverse the numbers
replace cogs with a new bit of wire/shaft
sorted

i might be able to do a bit of a how to for you at the weekend

Sounds like a mission?
When you say 'a lifetime to roll them back'…in time for the AGM???

MOTY 2013

look down the top and you'll see the gears that move the numbers and the wee tags on the numbers they push against. simply push the gear 1 way, and the number the other way and use the tags to gently click the numbers round till the desired milage is reached

That's sounds a bit more straight forward.
I'll give it a go.
Cheers!

Took speedo out.
Turned the cogs one by one using a piece of stiff wire. They were quite tough to turn but they clicked around bit by bit.
Now zero miles! Well…nearly zero.

Thanks for everyones input.
