HELP!! Dashboard lights not working but LED's still are
Hi new here got a problem i was driving home the other day and my dashboard lights went out all the LED's for indicators oil etc still work fine, but the bulbs that illuminate the dash and clock etc arent. I have a 1990 mk1 golf cabrio, please help dont really like driving in the dark without them too many speed cameras lol.

sounds to me like a light switch . i would try that first

Just tried the connections on the dimmer switch and light switches and everything seems to be ok i dont really understand why the LED's on the dash would work and all the lights on switches work as well why should just the dash lights go out

its not the outside connections its internal

just looked at the connections behind the light switch and the heater as suggested but there is nothing visible like in the other post do you think it would be worth putting a connection tester on them

when i say internal i mean i could inside the light switch itself your best just trying a new light switch …what tends to happen the the light switch burns out inside NOT ON THE CONNECTIONS

oh right sorry mis-understood just curious though if the connections in the light switch have burnt out would that not mean that the headlights wouldnt switch on either
