Headlights and indicator issues

Hi guys; hoping that someone might be able to help me out.  I'm having 2 problems with my golf which I will try to expound on below.

Problem 1: Indicators does not work. When I push the indicator lever down or up for either left or right, the LED on the dash does not flash. Instead it remains on. As if there is a short somewhere along the wiring. I doubt that however. Both indicators was still working fine a day ago.

The indicator globes on the outside of the vehicle do not even turn on while the LED on the inside is on, but not flashing.

When I turn the hazards on however on everything works fine. The LED on the dash flashes as well as both indicator globes on the outside, front and back, of the vehicle.

What could be the problem here?

Problem 2: When turning on the headlights only the passenger headlight comes on. The driver side does not come on. When I change the headlights to bright, both lamps come on.

At first I thought it was a blown lamp, but I've swapped the lamps around. I've taken the "blown" lamp and fitted it in the passenger side headlight housing. It worked. Now the lamp that was working moments ago does not work anymore once fitted to housing I originally thought to have housed a fused globe. Again, in this swapped position both globes comes on when on bright.

Unfortunately I'm not well versed with the electrics of my vehicle; therefore any help directing me to a solve of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Indicators sounds like a fuse is blown as i have just had this with my Hazards… do they work?

Press hazard switch and the dash light stayed green but did not flash… all the out side lanos stayed off.
New fuse fitted and all is good.

Good luck.

Thanks

I've sorted the headlights out. That was a blown fuse. The indicator problem still persists. I've replaced the flasher unit with a new one. Does not solve the problem. Only thing that works is the hazards.

I have ceramic type fuses in the box. I'm currently in the process of replacing them with more modern ones.

I have sorted the indicator issue though. Turned out to have been a defective hazard switch after all.

Thanks to everybody for all the advice. It's most appreciated.
