Fusebox sparks, then cuts off engine - then back to life

as said in title.
i will be driving along, fusebox sparking away, like metal shorting out and buzzing.
My engine will cut off at random times, and then start back up and get back in to life, sometimes almost instantly,
But sometimes i come to a complete standstill before it will work again and have to wait.
Anyone else had this problem? anything obvious?
