funny dash issues
i laugh everytime i look at my dash when you put the lights on even on dip beam the dash says its on main when you put it on main the dash goes blank even the mfa
i can drive temp gauge will flash if i turn an idicator it goes off my oil light only flashes once on ignition it doesnt come on when cranking or if i pull the wire of the sender
i think its funny cos when the car went for the mot the tester never noticed and didnt fail it on the dash bulbs

It sounds like earthing problems to me - or possibly a loose connection somewhere.
Have you had the dash off to have a look at the wiring? Also, there's a really useful guide to the earthing points here - may be worth spending an hour with a multimeter…
Although having spent a week faultfinding electrics I'd say it's far less hassle not to bother

Make your the brown and white wire is still connected to the top of the rocker cover. Thats the earth wire for the dash. Thats probably the problem.

wires
hi cheers for the replys
just pulled the whole dash out to tidy some wiring and found a red single plug with a brown wire and a brown/white this isnt plugged into anything so this could be the problem yes???
both wires go into a male connector with a red platic housing does this go to the engine???
