Fuel Guage not working

Hi all. The fuel guage isn't reading anything on my cab. I've changed the guage and sender unit and still nothing. I've powered the guage directly and its worked so it def not that and i've by-passed the sender but nothing.

Does this mean it is the wiring itself? According to the Bentley manual the same brown wire connects the sender and fuel pump. The car starts and runs fine so the fuel pump must be powering ok.

Can someone tell if both the brown and violet/black wires going to the sender are both live and which goes to the guage and where does the input come from? If I put a new live to the sender (to which wire I dont know) from the ignition or somethign similar  will this work?

if bridging the pins on the plug doesnt help, its the wiring. try earhting the purple wire

I've brigded the pin but hasn't worked. Just tried earthing the violet and black wire but no joy. Also fed a direct line from the battery positive and negative terminals into half way along the wires. Any other ideas?

check the fusebox faq for pin locations, work from there back/forward to clocks
