Fog Lights
Hi
Got a problem with my fog lights.
Tha Front fogs don't switch on.
The rears work fine, on position 2, but the fronts won't come on at position 1 or 2.
Any Ideas?
All wiring looks ok, fuse looks ok, could it be the relay.
Oh, while i'm here, i know the front wipers on Mk1's aren't particularly good, but mine seem to be horendously slow when the car is cold, be once it's warmed up, they seem to work ok.
Again could this be the relay, or does it sound like something else?
Any Help will be much appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Tom
Slow wipers are very common mainly due to the spindles and linkage becoming partially seized . You need to be thinking about stripping and overhauling the complete wiper assembly then using some light grease on all the moving parts on assembly , quite easy when it on the bench or kitchen worktop Haynes manual will help .
Your front fogs/spots may be wired as high beam use only especially if they were retro fitted not all models had front fogs as standard :dontknow:

Thanks for that about the wipers. I'll do that.
The fog lights are standard and have all the correct wiring, but not power. Thank's what lead me to think it could be the relay.
Are there two points on the board a can bridge if i remove the relay?
Cos if it works then, it'll be the relay. If not, probably the wiring.
