fog light problem

ello, i'm having some trouble with me mk1, she's a 1983 c. at some the car has been fitted with some gti trim, including a double headlight grill. i was'nt gonna keep it but it's grown on me now. my problem is that while all the wiring looks to be in the right place, they don't work, i've fitted new bulbs and traced the wiring as far as possible to check for breaks but nothing, can anyone help please?  :dontknow:

Have you checked the fuse/fusebox?

i changed the fuse, it was 1 of the first things i did. the wiring looks like its been its been hacked about quite a bit in its life, would it be possible to run the fogs straight off the battery with the switch re wired?

In theory yes - but you might want to recheck your wiring before doing so.

Relays are available from most auto stores. Although my local seems to only stock two colours of 25amp wire, which is a bind.

cheers , just had a look, looks like its quite informative. 1 question, what the hell is a vw quantum? never heard of 1 before, or is it just the americans renaming the scirrocco mk2 or something?
