Faulty fusebox maybe?

Hi all,
after getting indicators working thought problem solved, but problem i have is on dash the indidcator light bulb lights up very faintly and when indicating the handbrake light flickers in tandem.
Also when starting car, sometimes starts and no problems but now when turning over and rev it fires and cuts out straight away.
With these faults am i looking at a bad earth or faulty fuse box or something else.
The fuse box is the Bullet type
Thanks
pete

maybe a combination....

of things…..

from my recent experience, l`d suggest you check the earths clean them all, then do a meter reading on the fusebox, check the relays/fuses aren`t corroded or oxidized clean the block terminals and all the fuses, lastly try checking the wiring for a short. It sounds like a case of eliminating things one step at a time and if the problem persists re checking everything.

hope it works out to be something relatively easy….to fix.

maybe.....

if the car runs then the starting relay is in the right place ( it`s number 60 on my diesel ) have you tried a different relay ? because they can oxidize and the connections short out inside the unit, it`ll work for a few minutes then the engine cuts out and won`t start for about 5 minutes then it`ll give up completely (l discovered that was what had happened with my old unit when l removed the casing).

The position of the unit….on my fuse box is…… looking right to left from fuse number 5 until 8…above them is block number 18…and immediately above it is block 60…back to back.

alternatively you may have a short somewhere so check the wiring visually and with a meter.

hope this helps

cheers

Our wee` friends....

Congratulations on the wedding…….hope everythings went well….. eternal happiness, best wishes, bliss….etc;

As for myself, call me old fashioned, almost married a couple of times sadly a degree in eternal patience required….still trying to train the g/f without much progress ….. She`s had the new car 2 weeks and waited till yesterday to tell me she`d hit the trailer, scratched bumper, broken hinge and tail light on trailer   :banghead:   Maybe one day she`ll become Miss……. Swarfega and her tool kit… although l seriously, seriously, doubt it………

As for spiders…live & let live is my moto….. Best excuse for stunned silence in the car………"no my dear you can`t kill it he and his missus alongwith kids live in the car, in return they manage the bug problems…..wasps, flies, etc "…….do yourself a favour woman leave them alone…hassle them and their big cousins who live behind the skirting in the lounge will come out one night when we`re asleep and bite you….

A little live & let live alongwith some training…… if only life were so simple
