Electric Windows in MK1 Cabriolet - help.....

Has anyone got the GSF electric window conversion in their MK1 Cab ?

If so have you any tips on how to fit as a mate of mine is struggling  

I think Tian knows everything there is to know about aftermarket electric windows now.

Yeah I've fitted one. Not the best kit but once they're in they seem to work fine. Quite a smooth operation and fast too.

Tips!

The bolts that stick through the holes in the door around the motor were too long on the set I had. I needed to chop them a bit shorter.

The motor has clearance issues at the top. I managed to just squeeze it in there without having to bend any of the door.

I used some rubber door wedges in between the glass and the slot in the door to keep the glass in various positions when bolting it to the mechanism.

I had a different aftermarket kit (electric life) in there before and I had some original manual mechanism parts missing. Once I sourced them I got on ok. Just a fair bit of jiggling about to get them installed.
