Electric window

Well, after months of looking and trying, I've fixed my electric window motor by fitting an aftermarket mechanism. Now as my lucky chance would have it, the switch is now bust instead! :banghead:

I've taken it out to get a replacement from VAG but the one supplied Part no. 155 959 855 has a different connector. Actually the strange thing is it has the same part number and connector as the hood switch, odd! Anyway, I checked the switch and there's no part number on it so I'm left with the thought that it might be an aftermarket item that just looks almost exactly like the real thing. Thin g is it's so close you wouldn't spot the difference without comparing two switches. My question is, has anyone heard of 'BREVET' as this is the only real marking on the back of the switch?

Failing that can anyone tell me why I have such bad luck.
