Early dash conversion!

My car is 1982 1.1 with KR 1800 16v coversion early fues box, small rear lights and chrome bumpers.  I have an early dash from an SA golf. The dash has competely different mountings to the dash in my car, the bolts at the end point up the way (thats the ones that normaly point in the way, you need to open the door to undo them. Does any one know if a dash from a uk car would be easer to fit. I really want to get this done cos it will make my car look even better!

I also know i need other parts like heater pipes, wiring loom. I have all them just need some advice the dash its self!

Looks like the old dash has different mountings on the chassis then

Yeah but i hace seen pics of early uk cars with the same style of mounting as the later dash!
