I'm not saying it is but could it be an inline balist resistor.

looks like the resistor from the top of the heater blower which should be positioned under the rain water tray.

Yes m8 in the haynes it says it is a series resistance, what confussed me was that in the mk2 and mk3 there is 1 in the front of the car,so i just put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5, :redfaced: i still might be wrong :dontknow:

Its a resistor. Its the same as the one on the heater fan control, but its for the headlamps, its used to light up the dipped beam bulb but at low voltage when sidelights only are turned on, AKA dim-dip.

Not yet m8,i still collecting bits,i have now got some tsc50 blaupunkt tweaters to go with the blaupunkt crossovers,so it's starting to look like all i need is the cable and terminals, but still unsure how big to go with it,was thinking about a distrbution block rather than running 2 power cables, but unsure?? :dontknow:simmo88 said

The book i read that it was the heater resister is the haynes book of lies 0726 page 11.21,but i would go with what paul say's,coz he knows his oinons, :dontknow:

Does anyone on this post know what resistance / voltage grade the wire should be to for the 'ballast resistor wire' from the coil to the fusebox on a 1.3 '83?
Is it wired to D15 or C15, Havnes says C15 but the sticky on this forum says D15?

do you mean the wiring for the headlight dim-dip resistor? if so, just bin the thing. all it does is short on the chassis and set fire to your headlight switch loom. not required by law or mot either!if you look behind the fusebox you'll see a 2 pin yellow plug, disconnect this and that disables the dim-dip and prevents loom fires

Hello my name is John and I'm a dub addict.

i'll have a look for that then prefer my car not to set on fire will put it in bin and get rid of it
