Dipped beam problem
Evening all,
Got a problem with the old dipped beam
Side lights work
Main beam works
I've read through all the light posts I could find and found reference to a problem with a rev counter, mine keeps doing odd stuff and that turned out to be the earth so i'm off to find/check that now. there is also mention to the main beam stalk, washer stalk, fuse box and so on so i'm a bit lost at where to start.
I have a trickle of voltage to the fuse and at the lights when ignition on and not when off so is that consitent with a short somewhere?
Any thought's appreciated
cheers
matt

I had similar issues. I solved it by replacing the fuse, and cleaning up the contacts it made; and wiggling/cleaning the large connector behind the fusebox - there was evidence of overheating in this previously. I think its connector "B", the red one 2nd from the left - but don't quote me on that!

Thanks very much for your input paul
I have fixed it, I think that it may have been a dodgy switch as I had it to bits earlier, took me a good 15mins to find the 7 springs that flew out when I took it to bits and get it back together. I gave it a bit of a wiggle and hey presto!!!! Might be time for a new switch as it's not something i'd enjoy doing at night.
those of you going this weekend see you there with lights!!!!!
