dash stoped working when lights on?????

my dash ( rev counter fuel water temp ect) stops working when i turn my lights on any tips on how to fix anyone  :dontknow:

Faulty headlight switch may be the cause , have you tried one ? Also look for any burnt wiring behind the switch connector . Dash has a switched live feed from the ignition switch , and the only thing i can think it may be is the above . Black wire from ignition switch , check it.

This happened to me a few years back, I cured it by running a new earth to the back of the clocks. I connected it on to the brown wire with a scotch lock.
I never found out why the fault occured in the first place, but it didn't give me anymore problems in the 8 years I had the car.

Try checking the earth on the back nearside corner off the rocker cover before you start pulling things apart

you are bang on this is a very common fault . i come across this fault a lot of the times. the repair that you have done is one that i do all the time
the fault lays from the earth block just on top of the fuse board which feeds the earth to the clocks .
