Clipper Hydraulic Roof

Just bought a Clipper MK1 89 and finding it very hard to find a manual.

I need help with the hydraulic roof. I press the switch to operate and nothing happens. I understand there is a type of key that can be turned on the hydraulic pump itself to disable it. I have turned it in and out without any success. The two cables coming out of the hydraulic pump appear to be going into a relay. Could this be the problem? Is there anyway of testing the circuit itself to elliminate the electrics?

Also having problems starting. Removed one of the plugs and earthed it against the body and there is no spark. Would this be the coil or Switch Unit ? Plugs, Leads, Distributor Cap and Rotor Arm all new. Fuel to carb OK.

Many Thanks

Hi
I have a clipper cab with an electric roof, when i bought my cab the electric roof worked by leaving key in ignition (ignition not on) and then by pressing switch for roof. But after a while it stopped working, and i realalised it was something to do with the ignition, as i found that if i pressed the key hard into the ignition and held there then pressed the roof switch it worked. Not sure if this is the same as your problem but worth a go.
Thanks Kenno
