Is the brake light switch up behind the peddle? Maybe some WD will sort if switch is sticking.

It should be directly behind the arm of the pedal, follow the pedal up and it should be a little switch that is pressed by the arm as you press the pedal

Is your brake pedal activating the switch at rest - i.e. when the pedal's not depressed, is it closing the switch? Get someone to look at the rear of the car whilst you pull the brake pedal upwards as hard as poss….if this solves it, I'd suggest some gentle bending of the pedal once you've established that the switch is seated correctly of course!

might just be the switch isnt adjusted right. push the brake pedal, then pull the pin as far as you can, takes a bit of wiggling but it will extend. then release the pedal and it will self-adjust. the pin is on liek a ratchet system
