Brake lights

A long term problem with my 1.1 is that you have to push the brake pedal down a long way before the brake lights come on.  Any suggestions anyone ?   :dontknow:

The mk1 brake light switch is fitted to the master cylinder and is actuated by the pressure in the brake fluid pressure, I would guess your brake light pressure switch is getting old and tired :mrgreen:

Have you changed the brake fluid and bled the system recently? Might help the situation. There is a bleed nipple on the switch itself (or on the ms just by the switch). Try bleeding this too...
