brake light switch 2 or 3 pin

hi just about to buyt a new brake light switch i was asked if i need a 2 or 3 pin connection ? i have a 1.8 gti i think its  2 pin but not sure

Can you look at the old one? Or the connector? Two pin will have two connections, and 3 pin will have 3 connections. Mine is an 81 1600 gti and has 2 pins...
