Basic Problems

Hello all. New to the site. I have a couple of things that I could use some help with. This is my first VW.

Car: 1984 VW Rabbit Gti

1)Blinkers do not work/Water in Left Blinker

I took the front blinkers out and it had a a white bond of some type in it. (Not sure if it was metallic or what) The bulbs had it all over them. So now I'm not sure if thats the problem or what but I plan to just rewire the lights myself.
If anyone could point me in the right direction…Thanks.

2) The radiator fan does not come on

So the car overheats (Of course) I see that in the wiring are all kinds of fuses and I dont wanna mess anything up ya know. I replaced the fuses
(black box looking things) Their were 3: 2 In engine bay and 1 in the Fuse panel. How do I test the fan?

3) zip tied (yes zip tied) A/C & Gauges (Temp, Clock etc.)

When I say zip tied I mean just zip tied: No wires, nothings hooked up. Whoever had the car before me zip tied the stuff to look like it worked. Any idea where I might find a wiring diagram for this? I plan on running my A/C.

*UPDATE* Now you can see the picture of the zip tie!! Link Below!!!!

That's just a start of what needs to be done. Thanks all for reading.

Some pics of the car from vwvortex. sorry for quality.
