altinator wiring loom? - where from?
where is it possible to buy an altinator wiring loom? The one on the car has corroded and needs replacing. I've tried vw and they said its now a discontinued part. :dontknow:

Which engine? What style of connector does it have at the alternator end?

I made my own using the highest amperage wire on sale from a discount auto store, and mains wiring.
You just need the right size spade terminals and a crimper (not the sort that does hair…..)

Yea if i can't find one i will have to make one myself. Do you know a good place to buy the connectors and crimping tool?

Mine's home-made and Maplin sell the tools you need. Get a reasonable gauge of wire too

If it's a GTi, why can't you use something from a newer big block, Passat say? Then if the end is wrong, you only need to fit one crimp at the alternator end and one on the charge wire to match the loom.
