Alternator wiring plug help needed..can someone get a pic?

Ok my 83gtis alternator frazzled the 3 pin plug plug and loom I had an auto electrician supply and fit an alternator and wiring. However it seems he has only connected 2 wires, where as the old plug had 3? It has the blue battery light wiree connected, and 1 red wire to the starter. Where should the last wire be? Would this missing wire affect the charging?

it only need 2 wires matey, both the big terminals are linked, will work perfectly

Ok cheers! At the alternator end it runs at 13.6v, however at the starter and battery its more like 13.1/2? Isnt that quite a loss?
