Alternator capacity?

Can someone tell me what the rated current output of a standard '88 GTi Cabby Alternator is?  I assuming about 60A????

I want to uprate and mod headlights and need to know how far I can go.

55a or 65a. I changed my citigolf 45a to a 65a bosch from europarts,loads better now,the lights dont dim when the aircon is on  :wink:
