I used a Toad Ai606 on my mk1. You can fit a microwave sensor to this alarm these are designed for cabbys. the alarm comes standard with ultrasonic sensors these can be disabled by pushing the remote buttons in a combination when arming.

Not sure if your gonna fit it yourself, but if you do then i dont think your insurance will give you any discount?

Even tho I had it fitted by what I thought was a decent shop I've had alot of problems with dodgy connections causing the alarm to do some weird things.
In hindsight I should have fitted it myself, that way I would have known where to look when it went wrong.

I have a meta imobiliser fitted in mine which looks like they droped the car at the zoo with all the parts and came back to pick it up at the end of the day, and they still felt proud enough to stick there company logo in the windows!
