Accellerator enrichment valve

Hi all, I have a mk1 K-Jet 1.8 engine and a loom from a scirocco which I am trying to pair up. I have the vacuum valve for cold start accelleration, but cant work out where the accelleration enrichment plug goes that apparently works with it. Also, what does the throttle valve switch do. I have the wiring diagram, but am a bit crap.

Also, just to confirm my research - can anyone tell me the colours that each of the 2 pin plugs on the engine loom should go to.

Appreciate any advice.

Check out the pic, its a late cabrio engine…

The accelleration enrichment valve is attached to the metering head and the plug (black) is connected to it! :)
The throttle valve switch is on the throttle body. You can see the green electrical plug attached to it. You'll need the correct throttle body to attach it I expect :dontknow:
I'm not sure what benefit the system gives though?

pretty sure that set up was only on later floppy tops.

Hi, thanks for the piccy. I have a mark 1 engine but I think I have an early mk2 inlet manifold and metering head (it's the other way round to this) Doesn't seem to have anywhere for an electrical clip to go on the metering head, so I would guess from this that I cannot make use of the accelleration enrichment. I have got the vacuum switch that works with it, but that came attached to the loom from a later scirocco.

As far as the throttle body switch, I have the switch on the throttle, but nothing on the loom (which is intact) so I guess I can't make use of this either. As you say, I can't make out what benefit it has either. Perhaps someone else could enlighten.

Throttle valve switch

Guys,

The throttle valve switch is for cold enrichment when first accelerating. The thermo time switch should work in line with the throttle switch and cold start vacuum switch so when you first accelerate when cold the 5th injector puts some fuel in also to help with the cold manifold and give a nice power level. Only for 0.4 secs though. When the engine or thermo time switch is over 35 degrees the cold acceleration does not work as the thermo time switch goes to open circuit, stopping any 12v supply to the 5th injector.

Big bother with mine at present, doing my head in.
