Original stereo??

I've looked everywhere but i can't find out, does any know what the original stereo for an 83 gti is? I bet you'll never be able to find another one if you haven't already got the original!

I think you'll find it's a Blaupunkt Hamburg unit.
I got one two weeks ago off evilbay uk :mrgreen:   been looking for one for ages.  In the process of fitting it at the mo.  They come up more frequently on ebay.de.

Mines a phillips something or other but a Blaupunkt Hamburg would make more sense, oh well, it looks like a new original stereo to add to me shopping list!

ull fine that it was the dealers that put the steros in so it could be any . depends on what and which best deals they got

OK, mine aren't as old school as those fine examples, i suppose there's no such thing as an original stereo if the dealers fitted them then, mines definitly from the eighties and looks the part though!

Remember though these stereos will only play 80s music.  But hey could be worse, what with some of the nonsense in the charts these days.

Had the same problem last year, I eventually got one on ebay
paid about ?40 from memory.
I can get the model number if its any help.

Yeah if you could dibbler that would be great, i know i've seen the catalogues somewhere which should have all this info in but i can't find them anywhere!

This was out of a 1983 GTI (according to the ebay seller).
It is not in properly, as I have to remove the dash soon (dodgy speedo).
