Side stripes

I was trying to find out if GTI 's in black came with the two side stripes from the factory or if they where add ons? thanks peeps

They came with the double stripe along the bottom of the doors and one on the tailgate like all GTi's  plus one under the waistline trim.

Cheers mate ,Wheres the best place to buy them? Also, I've seen a few pics where The wider stripe was on top and some had the wider stripe on the bottom .So which is correct ??And finally are the stripes white or silver? Thanks again.

Stripes are silver.I got the stripes for my marsred car from browns stickers,also trade as vw stickers

cheers mate,so are the stickers fitted as per pic above?Is there a sticker under the clip-on  waist trims? I never noticed them before

Sorry ,I forgot to ask about the rear window ,is there a sticker/trim on that for a black golf ? My car doesn't have a rear wiper  does that matter?

Being old enough to remember them when they were new, i am sure all the Black cars I saw at the time did not have the black trim around the so don't worry one less job to do!

The sliver stripe is just under the black plastic trim strip, not sure where you can get them, but if you PM. 'swerve' on here, I was chatting to him recently about fitting them to his Helios Blue car and I think he managed to get some.  Here is a close up if it helps. If you go onto 4Star .Classics the £25k black car on there is supposedly original so may help with more pics,

hi richard is correct that the black cars didnt have a rear window foil .
The broader stripe is on top with narrower one below . And the midline silver one goes below trim .
There was an ad some time ago for an original black car and the stripes were wrong !The ones i mentioned above are good quality .
