Any experiences?
Hey guys, I want to keep the original paint on my car while i bring it up to scratch but it is definitely missing some in places. Has anyone used any colour coded aerosols in the past? I am pretty bloody good at using spray cans but bad paint is bad paint so id like to hear from anyone that has used them before and what you thought. Also confirmation that this is tornado red?
cheers guys

Not sure if I'm reading this right but looking at your car it clearly needs a full paint job.
So if you have the thought in your mind to paint it with spray cans STOP right there!
Don't do it.
You'll waste a lot of time and money, just save up for a proper 'Pro' paint job, you won't regret it.
As for the colour.
'Tornado' red is a colour from Audi but yours is most likely 'Mars Red', check this link out.

Do it once and do it right! ok, we've identified the problem, lets not make it worse by guessing……… Identifying the sympton is not the same as understanding the cause

It's not that bad, its just grimy at the moment. It would be better off with a new spray job but i need something to cover the patches where i fill holes with welding etc for now and i would rather not drive around with primer splodges on the car. although i would rather do that than have patches of not quite matching colour paint.
Is mars red the only shade of red they did? I was getting confused with my old polo that was tornado red. thanks

There's mars red no 1 and mars red no 2. If it's a 1.8 GTI then it should be mars red no 2.
These guys are good at mixing up aerosols - http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/
