Cleaning seats?

What's the current thoughts on good upholstery cleaners and procedures?
I was a valeter in a previous life but not for a looooog time. 
I have a wet vac but not a proper extractor type. 
I'm open to suggestion! It's a velour type.

I valet cars for a living. 

Autosmart brisk is a very good upholstery cleaner. Spray down whatever you're cleaning with it, steam, agitate with a drill brush, extract out the dirt. 

For really grubby stuff, I use g101 from Autosmart… same process.

I was hoping to contact my local Autosmart rep to get some, I'll get some brisk too. That was a foamy cleaner if I remember right?

101 is still just about the best apc on the market. Autosmart isn't as cheap as it once was tho, but 5 litres will clean your house and your car for about a year. 😂

Brisk extra doesn't foam much at all, again 5 litres isn't cheap cheap, but you knock it down 10-1 and it'll last ages. Works well on most surfaces Tbf, not just upholstery.

Washing powder?

I found an old tin of "brisk" but it's a. Empty. And b a dry foam type of cleaner. I guess brisk extra must be something else. 

I was advised of not steam cleaning older cloth seats by a classic restorer as it can break down the glue that attaches to the foam and then causes more wrinkling of the material.

For sure, you must go easy on old worn out stuff.
