Might be worth your while having a word with Karl chortle .
He is our go to guy fo Cabby tops, replacement and repairs but I'm sure he's cleaned a few of both mohair and vinyl over the years.

I have the same a you and I use a hoover for  my mohair roof first, brush it with a stiff shoe brush before washing.

Followed by once almost dry with a UV protection and water sealant but the name of it escapes me right now because my head is full of other stuff and I'm on the road.

My mohair top is 8 years old and still looks fairly good.
Not the best photo but it gives you an idea.

As for the Vinyl, depends how dirty it is.
Mine is very clean and in great shape so twice in 6 years I've given it a light washing with Fairy Liquid in medium to hot water.
Let it dry and then with a good old yellow duster a buffing.

Both look good but each to there own of course! ;)

Ragg-top is another good brand of Mohair/Canvas cleaning and rejuvenating cleaners and conditioners.

FOLLOW directions..and a really really soft bristle brush if extremely dirty.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Thanks people. Never really tried to look after a car this well if I'm honest but some great tips there. Will give the tonneau a go with fairy when the weathers a bit warmer.  Go Golfie guys!

If you have a Vinyl Boot cover, and it is "white" but dirty in the grain pattern……

Here is one that I half cleaned. The left is Magic erasers, the right bright is "Brake-Kleen Green Can"

What I used…..

Caveats: (aren't there always caveats?)

The Green Brake-Kleen is more Friendly to vinyl.

You have to clean it with a good detergent first and a soft brush.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work well, but this one needed more drastic approach…

I sprayed small areas, allowed to set for about 4 seconds and wiped off with a clean rag with some elbow grease… I used a heck of a lot of clean rags, and about 2 cans of Spray…   After, you get the thing white again, well 303 Aero-Space protectorant works great….

Now that I keep after the thing Magic Erasers keep it white….

ps: I tried all kinds of cleaners including Toilet Bowl Soft bleaching gel,  didn't faze the ingrained years of accumulated dirt… (DO NO USE STRAIGHT BLEACH as it will YELLOW the Vinyl…)…

Try a test in a small area like the Parcel Shelf Straps first…..

On my white vinyl roof lining (which is the same material)  I used 'Mr. Muscle' universal cleaner.

Sprayed it on, left it 30 seconds then used a bathroom nail brush and softly worked it in while holding a clean cloth to remove the cleaner.

Followed by a wipe down with warm water just to stop the cleaner for sure.

Then I went back with a fresh clean cloth and wiped it good and dry.

Came up a treat without looking slightly 'Bleached' as many do.

First time it had been cleaned in 25 years and that was 2 years ago.
To be honest I know I need to do it again! ;)

Unfortunately I don't have any photos on my phone of before and after.

If it's got lots of green mold (or possibly mould?) in it then use some Milton sterilising fluid on it first. This kills all the mold in the Mohair. Keep rinsing and repeating until the water you're rinsing out of it is clear.

After that try some Maguirs roof cleaner. Works well to clean the hood. That can be used to clean the hood every other week or so to keep it in tip top condition (see what I did there!)

The the standard soap and water mix you normally use (car shampoo not washing up liquid.)

To proof it I've tried the Renovo stuff and wasn't massively impressed. I've also tried the Grangers Waterproofing for fabric (from all tent and outdoor stockists) and it seems to work well. Nice beading and waterproofing qualities. Also seems to keep mold and dirt from getting in.

For God's sake don't let the hood get wet until it's properly dry otherwise it washes off and runs down the paintwork which is not good!

All these products are not good for the cars paintwork so make sure it's well waxed before hand and tape off the paint work at the edges of the hood to stop any of them getting onto the paint.

For the tonnea I just use normal car shampoo and a nail brush. Then use some Auto Glym Vinyl and rubber protectorant on it.

Lots of elbow grease will be required. You'll need a couple of days to get the hood all spangly again if it's a bit manky.

My cabby lives outside, close to trees, and is used all year so I always give it a good clean in the spring and it seems to be ok then for a year.

golf cabrio  I always end up with wet feet when washing the fleet.

Perhaps it's cos I'm short and have to stand really close to the cars to reach the roofs  :P

Wet feet, I don't tend to stand in the bucket…. :)

Took one of mine to the quarter car wash the other day had to clean polish residue off, (why do I still call it that as it takes about 5 bucks….) a bucket a few rags a chamois and a brush for the wheels…. I figure that I rent the space,,, :)  oh, I also take my waders.. and a rain jacket that I remove after, replace my dry shoes and roll the jacket and the boots in the bucket and place in the boot for the ride home… In the Winter it keeps me dry and warm.  In the summer I wear flops, but am mindful to keep the sprayer away from the skin.  :)
