I'm on the hunt for a nice original 4 door tin top, ideal car would be a metallic green GX in good condition (T&T, no major projects please).

Anyone got anything they're thinking of selling?

flog1km Thanks mate but I'm sorted now, ended up with a 4 door Mk3 TDi for the other half to cart the young un around in (which was the intention of the GX) and found myself a 3 door tin top.

What monster lurks beneath the clamped down bonnet?

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

It's running a KR on twin Webers, I'm on the hunt for a Mars red bonnet as I'm not a fan of the pins!

Yeah pretty weird, the rest of the car looks original spec and the mods they have made use VW parts (wheels, engine etc)

The previous owner bought it for his son as a first car about 15 years back (standard 1.3 Driver) and after a few years they decided to do an engine swap. They never quite completed it,
the son grew up, lost interest and his dad just kept it tucked away in the garage. He finally sold it to me as he wanted the garage back. It came to me on 13" steels wheels with a bolt in roll cage, bucket seats and harnesses which I suppose were all the rage at the time. I've recommissioned it, added the G60 steels and have fitted a grey gti interior.

The bonnet pins were added as the radiator was mounted under the slam panel to clear the carbs, which meant they couldn't have the standard catch. I've changed that so it now opens and closes on the catch.

It's a good set up with the KR.
