Yes, I have some spare handles. Ill check the part number, as there are a couple of different types. Ill try and get round to it this week, and take a picture.

My issues was that I couldn't use the key to lock or unlock the door so one of my suspicions was that it was due to a n incorrect door handle/finger set.

I hadn't been able to exclude this until I could remove the handle and have a look at the part number on it which I was struggling to do because one of the 2 screws that connects it to the door had been rounded off and I wasn't sure that I could solve that without cutting the handle off.

however today I managed to dremmel a groove in the head of the rounded screw and remove it…

that allowed me to take the handle off and see if it was the correct one…

it was!

so what was my problem?…..thought I'd put it all back together again and, hey presto!, it worked!

So there you go…I have no idea why it worked - just like rebooting - so, ,longinmaus, whilst I'm very grateful for your offer here,  I don't need a new handle but I shall certainly bear you in mind if I need some other spare part if you don't mind?
